Aloha all,

I rencently joined the jiblibflash project, a 3d physic engine, which Muzer did port from the jiglib c++ open source engine.

It's still in the early stage but i wanted to show you the first demo:
http://www.flashbookmarks.com/demos/jiglibtimestep/

If anyone is interested to join the project, send me a message.

The project can be found at: http://code.google.com/p/jiglibflash/ but remember it's still in early stage and there's no documentation / tutorials yet.

You can find me on irc #papervision3d, server freenode or http://pv3dchat.flashbookmarks.com/

Hope you like it.

Oh totally forgot to tell how to control the red ball:

click in the 'screen', then you can use the arrow keys and the spacebar.

Great!!!!

I've been waiting for a rigid body engine forever!

I´ve rencently ruled a personal project because I couldn´t do what I
need with any physics engine like box2d, wow and Bolt.
You gave me hope with that example. Great job. Can´t wait to see more!

hi, I made another test based on your example code:
http://www.xinterface.net/samples/ASJibLibTest/ASJibTest.html
You can add bodies to see when it begins to become slow. In my case the fps is good when there are less than 20 cubes.
I saw that even if the cubes are not active (you wait untill they stop) the movie gets slower and slower if you add more bodies.
Is there any way the "not active" bodies don´t affect the fps?
I was thinking about a game that needs a lot of cubes, about 60-80 and all of them have to move at the same.
Even so, I think what you´re doing is great, and I hope to see it finished!

Thanks all.
We will try to get the jiglibflash engine to the next level and keep you updated in here.

Yeah, finally someone picked up the muzer-code... Cool Dude

I am working with muzerfly, he's still active on it, and we just got a 3th member 'kal-el'.
Hopefully we can get a few more members to speed up the proces.

hi, I downloaded the code from google code and I compiled your code example. The result was much slower than yours. I added an StatsView and the fps goes from 10 to 25.
You can check it here: http://www.xinterface.net/samples/ASJibLibTest/ASJibTest.html
Do anybody guess why is this happening?

Now I compiled the same thing with Flash Ide (first time was with Flex Builder) and the fps got much better. Does anybody knows why the performance with Flex builder is worse than Flash Ide????. I put the same source code for both.

the fps in flash ide was 60 fps. It was the example from the jib-lib on google code. My FB movie had the default frame rate, so when I changed it to 60 fps, the result was the same as Flash ide.

Did you set the fps in your document class?

Hi John, thanks for answering. The issue comes from the frame rate. I forgot to write the frame rate in the as file in flex builder.
