At the 2008 FileMaker developer's conference, CNS handed out just
under 500 cookbooks, with about 20 or so going to the authors and
developers. The remaining were handed out to FileMaker employees who
were interested in them. The cookbook was an undeniable hit, with
many, many excited takers. Time and time again people were shocked to
find out that the book was completely free.
We would like to repeat last year's success, while stepping it up a
notch in quality. This year we have kept the recipe spots affordable
and created new opportunities to help sell your products.
We have also created a website that will be available year-round with
advertising available. If you participated in last year's book, your
recipes are already on the new website. Sponsorship for this year's
book includes a rotating banner and a static banner for a year on the
site.
Sponsorships
We have 4 sponsorships available. Like last year, sponsorships
include your company logo on the front of the book, 2 regular full
page ads, and three recipes. This year we are including one, 468x60,
rotating banner and one, 125x125, static banner on the
cookingwithplug-ins.com website. The price for this sponsorship is
$850, saving you $2475 if you purchased all these items separately!
Recipes
The main focus of the cookbooks are the recipes, where you get to show
off how easy your plug-ins are to use. One recipe is $75. When you
buy 4 recipes for $300, you get one free. When you buy 8 recipes for
$525, you get 2 free. If you would like more than 10 recipes, email us
for a quote.
Cookbook Ads
We are bringing back the same three ad sizes from last year, and
adding three new opportunities this year. We are adding one back
cover opportunity for $1000, an inside cover opportunity for $800, and
a full two-page spread in the center of the book for $1800. Here is

Website Ads
We are offering two types of ads on the website. The first type is a
468x60 rotating banner for $100 monthly. You can purchase a full year
for $1000, giving you 2 free months. The second ad is a 125x125
static ad that is displayed on each page. The monthly price for this
ad is $150, or a full year for $1500, again giving you 2 months free.
How to proceed
Submit your recipes and other information on the website. If you would
like to participate this year, or just check things out, point your
browser to
http://submit.cookingwithplug-ins.com/ where you can create
a new account and fill out your company information. If you
participated in the book last year, you should have received an email
containing your username and password for the website. At this time,
the submission website is only compatible with Safari and Firefox. Be
sure to upload a profile and company image. You can create new recipes
right there on the website, as well as plug-in profiles for your
plug-ins. You can also upload a demo file for your recipes. Recipes
will not show up on the main website until they are approved. Adding
a recipe on the website is free, you will only be charged for recipes
you would like to include in the book.
Due Dates
Time, once again, is short. Please contact us as soon as possible if
you would like to be a sponsor. Company information, plug-in
descriptions, and related images will be derived from the website, and
are due as soon as possible. All recipes to be included in the book
are due by July 24.
