Shot on Friday (5D/10.5) and I am still sooooo excited :)))

http://schrader-air.de/panorama/badwiessee/

Yet I am working on another one from much lower. And of course there
are a couple from the ground.

Stitching and blending wasn't trivial since that baby is always
moving and besides the cabin there are no reliable static features to
place control points. The "cap" was a real pain since the pilot
wanted me to fix the camera to a rope which forced me to hold the
camera and monopod at head level while shooting.

Enjoy
Jürgen

Kudos for this one. Simply stunning, feels almost like a fairytale.
Just waiting for some goblin, gremlin and such to jump out behind that
propeller. Terrific job!

That’s quite amazing. I’d love to see the original thumbnails to realize how
you approached your shots.

I know Luca, I know ;)

I will ask them what they will charge for a day in Venice or maybe we
can bribe them to join the meeting in Switzerland *g*.

From what they've told me (at that day they were very busy and had
little time to answer all my questions) the overall cost of such an
airship is 200.000 EUR and you will need a new skin at 100.000 EUR
after 3.000 hours.

Plus a big car and the crew.

Therefore the setup went amazingly fast. It took them just minutes to
blow 3.000 m^3 of air into the shell and heat it to carry the load.

And even more stunning was that they started and landed almost in mid
town from a place that wasn't much bigger then the area of the whole
ship. (i know many people who can't even do that witht heir cars,
hehe).

Do you have any shots of the landing field (hopefully with the airship
in it)?

A beautifully shot mystery. Cant figure out how you filled the "cap".

Looking at the ground I see what looks like three balloons. One white, one yellow and one blue.
But even more surprising is a giant inflatable coca-cola bottle, standing next to the white balloon and seemingly even taller. I thought such tasteless crass commercialism was not allowed in EU ;-)

There are actually 4 inflated balloons (the 3 you saw plus a white and
yellow one) on the deck and a 5th one (red) is being set up (you can see
the envelope stretched out on the ground) ... plus the Coke balloon.
   =8^)

*Excellent* work, Jürgen.
