Someone may want me to Convert an Act (Sage) PC database to something
close to it in Filemaker (mac)

I know it's a big job - assume I know all the basics: exporting/
importing data and fmp file creations... just more of any particulars/
specialties related to ACT...

Q: Any Hints with Converting Act (Sage) To Filemaker?

Thanks,

I don't know how much ACT has changed it's file format, it has changed
ownership a few times. I stopped using it and converted my files back
in the day when v4 came out. Once they abandoned the Mac version, I
lost track of it. I can't remember for sure what format you need to
use as an export from ACT, but I think it was dbf, or dbase. If you
can export it as Text, that would be good for your needs too.

Here is a file I ran across after my conversion (isn't that the way),
and I have recommended from time to time on other lists.
Unfortunately, fmfiles dot com which ceased to exist about the time
version 7 was released.

The file  was uploaded for sharing by Lynne Bradford, and hopefully
will be of help.

You might get some help here:-

http://www.sageforum.co.uk/

You'll have to register and they seem like a pretty nice bunch. (By
the way, I think the French have an OS X version of Sage!)
