Export for Mac or Windows FMP Pro 9 Advanced Mac 10.5.8

I need to export 600 records as separate files for a group of people,
some use Macs, others Windows.

All records have blank lines in them, which FMP exports as control
characters. I can handle these on a Mac with BBEdit, but if I touch
the Windows files they cease to be useable.

How do people handle this cross-platform curse? Is there a way of
exporting carriage returns from FMP? Or a way of exporting RTF?

Thanks!

that is what FileMaker does for line ends embedded in field values

not sure what "cease to be usable" means, but it sounds like you need a
better tool on Windows

this is not a cross-platform issue; you'll need to replace the vertical
tabs which represent the returns; you could do that before or after
exporting

the accents you mention on your post on the Mac OS X list are a
character set issue which could be resolved by exporting Unicode text; i
also explained there how to add a few tags to a text file to make it RTF
