FM Server 10 PHP + GD Library

I have a PHP installation question related to the Filemaker Server
PHP library that is installed

/Library/FileMaker Server/Web Publishing/publishing-engine/php/lib/
php.ini

I have users that want to use GD graphics library's php functions.
When I do a info.php in my browser to see the settings It seems to
not be installed.

I would like to add this library but I am worried about breaking
filemaker's php connection.

Do you have any recommendations on how to best approach this problem
safely?

This is for a MAC OSX server 10.5.

Thanks for your advice

Kevin

A couple of options:

1) GD Library is installed as default on Snow Leopard... which would
require a reinstall of FMS, and choosing to use Apple's install of PHP
rather than FileMaker's.

2) install the GD library onto the existing PHP install.  Instructions
can be found here: <http://osx.topicdesk.com/content/view/133/41/> or
another way here: <http://www.mac-lab.com/2008/09/adding-gd-library-for-mac-os-x-leopard/

I have FMSA10 on a Snow Leopard server, using Apple's version of PHP.
I haven't yet used the GD Library components.

I never got around to attempting to install the GD library on
Leopard.. but had the instructions "just in case".

Once installed, you may(will) need to go into your httpd.conf file and
point to which php library is being used.

HTH.

A third option, the one that I have been using for about 18 months on
my server is the Entropy.ch build of PHP 5.2.5. You can get that from
the instructions on this page

http://www.entropy.ch/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=2945

install instructions are in green in the first post. I also had
installed their PHP 5.2.9 onto my MacBook as a trial, but never used
it in production.
