I have a client who called me with a report that, ostensibly, *his*
client's office workers' PCs are "all crashing all the time when
they're running FileMaker."
Since I don't speak with these folks directly, I couldn't find out
whether "crashing" meant they were losing connection to the remote
database, or whether their PCs were freezing up. My first comment to
him was that I found it unlikely that 3 or 4 PCs were all experiencing
crashes caused by the same application, unless perhaps their entire
network was infected by a virus or trojan.
I offered to inquire whether crashing has been experienced by other
Windows XP users who are using FMP 10.0v3; since I'm mostly a Mac
user, my time with Windows XP and FMP 10 is fairly brief.
If anyone else has had this problem, or if this is a known issue, I'd
appreciate any input; however, my bet is that what they are calling a
"crash" is actually a loss of database connectivity caused by a less-
than-adequate Internet connection.
Thanks for any input.
Best,
Bob Patin
