Files embedded in Container files

Hi there,

First time mailing to this list, though I have been learning a huge
amount from the posts in the past six months. Thanks to all who
contribute as I think there are many out there like me who read all
the replies and pick up a huge amount.

Filemaker 9 v 0.3 on Windows.

I have a query involving container fields in which files have been
embedded rather than a link to the file stored. I want to firstly see
what the file path is and secondly change that path, a network drive
has changed its name and now many thousands of links are invalid.

I have tried the function getastext ( ContainerName ) and it didn't
work. I think this is because the Insert... menu item was not used but
am not sure.

Has anyone got any thoughts?

Thanks, John

Hi John,

if you have the files embedded there is no path. The files are
embedded in the FM file.
