Been playing with Google sketchup 7.1 (free version). Been a few posts on the forum about PV not working with kmz exported from GS7.1.
GS now also does collada export, they don't work either.

They do work with PV 2.0883

Basic Dae and kmz of a cube and cylinder.

In PV2.1 only the cylinder shows. In PV 2.0.883 it works ok.

daeModel.materials also is hit and miss in 2.1 Doesn't always show the correct amount of materials.

Tried various other settings in sketchup, but its not something I use.

erm me wrong.

Just been looking into O3D and the collada exporter for that.

quote "Before and during the model building stage, consider how you will use the models in the O3D application. In particular, the application will need to correctly position your model and possibly translate and rotate it. This means that the model, or any parts of it, will need to be uniquely identifiable by O3D. In SketchUp, this goal can be accomplished by creating components. To create a component, select the model elements that you want to be part of the component and then use the right-click menu to select "Make Component." Once the component is created, assign it a unique name"

And if you do that for PV2.1 both kmz and dae exported models work.

Sorry tim ;)
