Not Sure what I'm asking

Please bear with me here, I'm not sure I know how to put into words
what I need to ask.  I've got a layout with company info i.e. company
name, address, etc.  I'm trying to have a field on the other layouts
that shows the company name.  It only shows up on the company info
layout where the original field is and one other layout.  I have a
similar database that this works just fine in.  I've cross checked the
databases, but can't find any differences in the Manage Database,
Tables, Fields, or Relationships.  I've compared Layout Setup and
Field/Control and don't find any discrepancies there either.  I copies
and pasted the field from the layout it works on with no results.  The
field shows up on the others as a text box, but the data isn't in it.
Any suggestions?

George

Check to see if your layout is based on the same table.

If your field is from a different source table then you need to check your
relationship.  For kicks and giggles on the layout that nothing shows up,
change the table that layout is attached to the one that the field is
attached to and see if it shows up then... if so then you have just tested
that your relationship is not proper.

OK, changing the setup did the trick, but since the relationships are
identical on the one with a problem to the one that is working, what
do I do?

1) make sure you have data in that table occurrence, hit Show All
2) make sure you are using the correct field (when you attached the field to
the layout) you may have chosen the incorrect table occurrence for the
particular field.
3) are you sure your relationship is built correctly???

Changing those fields to global storage did the trick.  Thanks for the
idea and all the useful info.
