Might be a brake dragging.  Hum of the motor and tranny could block it.  If it is louder than the motor Rolands answer is more on target.  Lawrence Rhodes..

On my S 10 pu,I always have this strange squeal/grinding sound in my motor.
This is a 13inch GE type motor that had a 24/36 volt rating. I have 360
volts of hawkers on board.
The squeal grinding only happens at very low rpm (under 250) The noise is a
product of the Zilla, a large motor and direct drive.

If you put it up on jack stands does the noise go away?
