Sorting ESS table

All,

I am running FM Server Advanced 10 on a Mac Pro 10.5.7 with 3Gs of
RAM.  I have added a mySQL table via ESS, if I sort any field in the
ESS table the FileMaker Server crashes and kicks everyone off with the
classic "Communication has been lost....".

Has anyone seen this problem?

Erik

I am haveing a similar issue with one of my Mac servers & MySql (similar
config), where if they do a find on a shadow table calc, it sometimes takes
down the served file. ( very inconsistant ) so,  I am also seeking anyone
who has experienced this issue or any links to reports of what might be
happening..

Thanks for the info.

I have also noticed that when setting a field with the Count feature
on data from an ESS locks up the system when there is a large data
result returned.  My guess is that the problems stems from returning a
large data result from an ESS.

With the help of the people from this list I was able to solve the
issue.  FileMaker's website states it only supports Acutal
Technologies Drivers for Mac when connecting to ESS tables.  I was
able to download a trial version and it seems to work on a test setup
I have.

Thank for everyone's help.
