First I wanted to thank everyone for all the great comments /
suggestions.
After applying some foil around the sensor wires, I have eliminated the
tach problem in neutral, but it still shows up when I run the vehicle.
I am in the process of replacing all the tach and sensor wiring with
shielded cable.
Hopefully that will do the trick to eliminate the noise from my Raptor
1200 controller.
If not, I may be contacting Ron from Black Sheep Technology about a
different sensor.
The information on the types of gears used in first and reverse probably
explains the noise.
I had my adaptor built from Electro Automotive.
If this was the problem, I would assume I would be hearing some noise in
all the gears, not just 1st and reverse.
Any suggestions on a different type of transmission lube?
I am currently using standard NAPA 75/90. I was afraid to use a
synthetic on a transmission this old.
Working out some bugs, but in general the truck runs great.
I really haven't pushed it yet, but it seems to have a lot of power at
my disposal.
Thanks Again;
Dennis

My guess on the tack is it counts pulses and noise during acceleration
is being interpreted as more pulses and pegging the tach Perhaps a pi
filter?
May be difficult because of the wide range the tach operates in.
Get an AM radio and tune it between stations and take a test drive.
Use shielded cable grounded at only one end.
BTW, What controller do you have?
The transmission noise, well first and reverse are often the first to
wear out, reverse becasue it is a narrow gear for it's light use and
first because it has the highest torque multiplication. Perhaps if you
were running it as an ICE before, you just couldn't hear it?
How is the alignment?
How is it connected, some transmission had some float on the input
shaft that your adapter may not be handleing properly.
