Hello,

yesterday I gone to do a climbing pano in Alquezar, this is the end
of the Vero canyon one of the most know places to canyoning... it is
also a good place for climbers, good weather, difficult routes and a
nice place with the old town surrounding de valley... too bad that
there was a lot of fog and the light was not really good...

I used the nikon D3 with a 16mm

So.... there you were... climbing a cliff-face, having to be glued to the
wall with all 4 limbs, and for extra safety you probably have to use your
mouth as a sucking instrument... and you had this bright idea of shooting a
pano... of all the things you could really do (just stay glued to the wall
while trying to get away from there alive)... you had to go with your
instincts and ... shoot a pano.

It is truly nerve-wrecking to watch.  Fantastic job!

I would love it if you could give details on how you took this pano and
the Rafting pano. Especially the rafting one. Did the rushing water
create a problem? How about the moving people?

I'm not experienced enough to be good at 'action' pano's like this, and
I'm always eager to learn more.

The climbing one, too. Ignacio has done several and he explained in the
past. Basically he dangles from a rope using this rope as a kind of
reversed tripod. The difficulty is to avoid the own legs in the down
shot and to remove the rope from the up shot.

And in this case he perfectly removed his own shadow as well, which
would be somewhere above the climber. Since the rock face is pretty flat
I guess he shot from sideways and used viewpoint correction.

Interesting is, that the zenith is pretty outside the rock. This could
indicate that he used some gadget to have the rope further away from the
rock. Or he used a pole to shoot from further out.

It is  only a few meters from the top. My guess this one was made with a pole from the top of the cliff.

Hans,

no, I was near the climber hanging on a rope, an I have used a pole
horizontal to place the point of view outside an get a better view of
the wall...

What's the little bit of rope 6' to the left of the climber ... all
that's left of the last guy that shot a pano there?      =8^)
