hi jeffrey,
barefeats has usually pretty good numbers on performance:
http://www.barefeats.com/hard128.htmli am still not 100% convinced about SSDs, while they give you an awfully nice performance, they don't seems to last really long yet (at least for the money we're paying for them).
the recent ptgui updates should give you already a much faster throughput.

thanks luca,
i looked at hyperos but i'm not so hot on the idea. seems a bit volatile for
my taste. also,
http://www.newegg. com/Product/ Product.aspx? Item=N82E1682013 4835
4gb ram is $120 so i'm not really into spending $12000 on 400gb ram disk.
although that would be pretty kick-ass ;-)))
Thanks Robert harshman for the info about ptgui 8.3 - I wonder if joost or
anyone else has more concrete info on this very interesting development. The
difference between a 4 or even 8 disk raid0 and ssd raid0 is staggering, and
truth be told my future computer configurations depend largely on the
performance of ptgui, much more than even photoshop.
still it seems that an SSD for the OS - windows 7 with TRIM seems to have a
huge advantage over any other os (mac included? correct me if i'm wrong)
thanks,
Jeffrey
