Kohsuke-
on java.net the whole webroot seemed to be in svn.. do we as committers
have access to web content anymore?  (probably ok if we don't, as a lot
of the content is on the wiki where we do.. just wondering)

here are some items I noticed:

- old content of download/ can be removed
(possibly replace with links to war/ and plugins/  ?)

- "past releases" link in the download box probably should point to
download/war/
instead of just download/  (unless we want it to go the the
war/,plugins/ choice
but direct to war/ seems better for that link.. should we add a way to
find the
plugins/ area?  should the Download Site link on
    http://wiki.hudson-ci.org/display/HUDSON/Plugins
  point to download/plugins/ now?)

- for "Hosting plugins at hudson.dev.java.net", what should
hudson.dev.java.net
be replaced with on the wiki?
(link on "Extend+Hudson" and section heading on "Hosting+Plugins")

- are the Feedback and Terms of Use links in the footer still appropriate?
I suppose we still have "enough" stuff on java.net to have those?
  something to consider..

- just an idea, should the Hudson graphic (the guy) be somewhere on the
main page?

thanks,

    - Alan

Yes, you still do. hudson-ci.org is served as the union of trunk/www and
trunk/www2 (where java.net only serves www --- thus www2 can be used to
change contents between java.net and hudson-ci.org, such as index.html)

So feel free to make changes.

Done.

I was told that some sort of "terms of use" is required, and using the
one from java.net seems to be the easiest and safest, so I think we
should keep it there.

I think the page is already somewhat crowded, so I think we'd do better
without him. But then, I'm not a designer, so what would I know?

My wife would scour with such a response. "Visual Identity" is everything,
and the visual identity of Hudson is that guy.

My suggestion is to replace the "Meet Hudson" camera image (currently
visitor.gif) with "the guy."

But I agree, clean is highly preferred over crowded.

That is a good idea! I also agree that visual identity is a useful
thing. The only concern is how well Mr. Hudson, as we call him here,
will look with the other Tango (I think) icons.
